I have the flu....

I made it almost one whole year without getting sick, but wouldnt you know it!? I got the stomach flu, or as they say in German, the magen-darm grippe. The first day wasn't so bad. I still had lots of engergy and could play and laugh. Day two, though, thats a different story. I had to go to the 'Kinder Klinik' and spend 4 hours of my precious time there. They made me drink this bad tasting stuff (electrolyte solution) and then sent 2 and a half more bottles of it home for me to drink later. It is hard work for mom and dad because they have to shoot it in my mouth with a syringe (I WILL NOT DRINK IT ON MY OWN!!!!). But now it is day three and I am feeling a bit better. I actually smiled today and ate some cheerios and drank some tea. And guess what? It all stayed in my belly....so far.

Books

Here are the newest pictures of me. I love books. I love to take my books off the shelf in my room and leave them everywhere. I carry them to the bathroom, to mommy and papa's bedroom and even to the kitchen. Some of my books are really heavy and I think I am building up some strong muscles from carrying my books everywhere. Sometimes I even sit down for a few seconds and look through them. I get slightly annoyed when my mom tries to read them to me becuase she has to take them away from me to see the words. I can get pretty worked up about that. I have a lot of really cool books, though and I think in a few months I will really start to enjoy the stories that are inside of them.

Calender Girl

This is a picture of me from a contest that my mom and dad entered me in. I came in 9th place from over 200 babies. I get to be September on the Styrian Babycalender and am very proud. My mom and dad had to work very hard at voting for one whole week and lots of other people helped them. I am thankful that so many people voted for me, but I hope my mom never enters me in a contest again.

My Family

This is a picture of my mom and I. I think my mom is pretty cool even when she's mean and says I can't have something that I really want. Sometimes she takes things that I am trying to eat, like paper and plastic, away from me and that makes me mad. But most of the time she does fun things with me like going for walks, reading books and tickling me.

This is my american family. They are awesome and they spoil me. I get all sorts of things from them, but best of all they love me so much it reaches me all the way in Austria. It sort of sucks being so far from them, but when I do get to see them its extra special and lots of fun.

And finally this is my daddy, or papa like we say in Austria. Dad does lots of cool things with me. He used to take me swimming every Tuesday. That was so much fun. I even learned to put my head under water. Dad has to go to work during the week, but on the weekend we do all sorts of cool things together.

Walkng, walking, walking

I celebrated Christmas in the US with my american family. It was so much fun and I got so many cool gifts. I enjoyed all the paper and ribbons too. Grandma and grandpa have 3 cats and I sure enjoyed having them around. They didn't even mind too much that I chased them around.

On December 30, 2006 at my grandma and grandpa's house in Wichita, KS I took my first couple steps. Even though it has only been about 3 weeks since I started walking I have really mastered it. I continue to fall down pretty often, but am good at falling and rarely get injured. I can walk all over our apartment and like to follow my mom and dad around. I can go from my room to the kitchen and back without tripping and sometimes even get going so fast you could call it running.
